COVID-19 Testing

COVID-19 Testing at Ochsner Lafayette General

COVID-19 PCR and rapid tests available to anyone, even those who may be asymptomatic. Members of the community should bring a valid ID and insurance card, if applicable. There are no out-of-pocket costs for those seeking a test and no one will be turned away based on their insurance status. Parental/legal guardian consent is required for minors under the age of 18 for testing.

Testing will be conducted in a drive-thru setting outside of the community center and everyone should remain in the vehicle at all times. There should be no more than four people per vehicle. Community members will receive their test results within 72 hours via the MyHealth patient portal.

Visit us at The Domingue Center, located at 901 Mudd Ave in Lafayette, Louisiana during the following hours: 

  • Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. & 1 - 4 p.m.

COVID-19 Symptoms

 

Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Look for emergency warning signs for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion
  • Inability to wake or stay awake
  • Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone
